Effects of color schemes on aesthetic response of the work environment
About Aesthetic Colour
Color can enhance the subjective aesthetic(Purple Aesthetic) judgment, and the creation of an effective working environment. In this study, the effect of the colour on the participants ' aesthetic responses. And two in monochrome (red, purple, and blue, and the two similar colors (warm and cold) were tested under artificial conditions. 53 interior designers who have voluntarily participated in this study, it was evaluated the factor scores by using the semantic differential scale questionnaire. The results showed that the use of different color schemes, it can have an influence on the participants' aesthetic, and friendly. The purple, blue, space, provides a sense of tranquility, while the red ones are able to conjure up a sense of excitement. Cool color spaces are generally perceived more positively in terms of visual comfort, ease, and relaxation.
Literature of Aesthetic:
The aesthetic(Purple Aesthetic) response to the environment, aesthetics is defined as a person's subjective experience, judgment and evaluation, by means of the aesthetic factors. In the probabilistic framework, which was developed by Nasar (1997), and clearly explains the relationships, and the relationships between the human and ethical considerations in the development of the physical qualities that produces an aesthetic response. In addition to the aesthetic, the response time may vary depending on the individual's characteristics, such as personality, experience, and background. For example, the professional interior designers, and have a variety of social preferences in the interior environment (Liu, 2016).
Research
A widely used method in the study of the influence of the room, the color on the individual's perception of the room, it is a question of scale differences. The vast majority of scientists(Purple Aesthetic) also created a scale to the selection of the pairs of words that are related to values from previous studies. Some of the problems to be resolved in this field of color study. Aesthetic judgments, the factors vary in different studies, in different contexts, which may be difficult in, for example, the values of different cultures. In addition, some of the evaluation objects that may not be suitable for the on-the-job research.
Impact on Environment
In an environment with a color, it is one of the physical factors that have an impact on the perception of the space and the impact on the mental and physiological state of the work. Many of the studies that have examined the effects of the warm colors (red, purple, yellow) and cool colors (such as blue, green, purple and orange). For example, warm colors will be seen to have a more stimulating effect than cold ones. The red in the office is considered to be the cause of more importance than any other, coloured branches (Kwallek & Lewis, 1990; Kwallek et al., 1997). The Managers do not prefer to work with mostly warm colors as a result of over-stimulation (Ceylan, Dul, & Aytac, 2008). Yellow, creating a sense of joy and happiness, as well as inspire you to think and be creative ideas, but that is too much of a yellow cause visual discomfort. In addition, the warm colors are, as usual, to make the room appear smaller than in areas with cool colors.
Implication
The results of the present study, we were able to expand our knowledge of how the scheme will affect the aesthetic(Purple Aesthetic) impressions in the workplace. In the design of the workplace with the right choice of color, it is of crucial importance for the aesthetic. This study offers a number of approaches, from a designer's perspective, choosing a color scheme is for an open-plan work environments. The use of black-and-white color scheme, you can feel a sense of harmony and simple, and it is suitable to work with at a relatively low level of complexity, while a similar solution for a number of aesthetic considerations than that of a monochromatic color scheme.
Limitation
Limitation of this study is that the experiment will be used only for one type of workstation, and four color schemes. For this reason, you need to study in more colors and combinations in a variety of environments. In addition, the current study examined the Thai interior design. Individual differences (e.g., gender, culture, profession, they also need to be taken into account in future studies.
